This book is sweet and relatively to the point. There weren't too many twists and turns or much mystery, but the author kept it upbeat and interesting. Rae is a small town free lance writer as well as a journalist for the local paper. Her latest article, whether she likes it or not, is going to be about one of their small town turned celebrity sports players, Malachi. She is determined to spend the minimal amount of time possible with him, just enough to get her article written.

Malachi grew up in Greensboro, and his Granny is plum proud of him. He has become an all star baseball player with a flourishing career, but due to a recent shoulder injury some time off is much needed. During this break, Malachi has decided to return to his roots and host a few weekend baseball camps for the local kids. Rae's job, to interview him, and write up and article.
Rae has recently been dumped by a popular sportscaster and is in no way interested in a relationship with a stuck-on himself, womanizing, baseball celebrity. But what she doesn't know is that Malachi, himself, has somewhat sworn off women too, as he is working on restoring his relationship with God and becoming a new man.

What will the future hold for them? Will they hit it off, or just butt heads? And when Malachi's dear ole' grandmother comes up missing, what will happen next?

I found this book interesting enough to keep me reading. It wasn't necessarily fast paced, at least not for me, but the author kept me wondering what would happen next and reading to the last page. I am guessing from the way the book ended there may be more to come in Rae and Malachi's story, so I will be keeping my eye out for another book. This is the first time I have read a book by Tia McCollors, but I do believe my readers would enjoy this book. This book is number three in the Days of Grace series. I do not know if this is a sequential series or if each book is individually written with different people as the main characters, but I had no trouble understanding the book completely without reading any of the previous books.

Even though this is the third book in the series, it is a good stand-alone also. I really enjoyed this book. It is written from the perspective of Rae, but goes between her, speaking in the first person, to Malachi. It has a heading at the top of the chapter when it is changing to Malachi, but it really isn't needed. These characters are well developed and the story flows well. It is a love story but it is not boring in any way. This book really hit home with me with regards to gran'nola, Malachi's grandma. I will not spoil the story and tell you what happens, but this probably is more common than not. If you want a Christian love story, well written and very clean, this book is for you. This is a story that I found to be filled with glimpses of God's word throughout this very enjoyable story. Rae Stevens is a writer and loves her job. She is trying to get over a very public breakup with a sportscaster. Trevor broke her heart and she doesn't feel like she can trust a man again. Malachi Burke is a very famous Major League Baseball player who finds himself in the same small town as Rae. He has come to oversee a baseball camp for local boys. He has also had a recent breakup and knows coming to the small town is just what he needs.

Malachi has family in the small town and he decides to stay with his grandmother , who is affectionately known as Gran'nola. I fell in love with this character. She is fiesty, God fearing and a heart as pure as snow. I wanted to be sitting there watching her cook or just talking to her. The author developed her character so well, I wanted to read more about her. Malachi has noticed that Gra'nola is starting to show signs of forgetfulness and becomes concerned. Will he have to make some living arrangements for Gran'nola so she will be safe?

The story will encourage readers as the relationship between Rae and Malachi slowly develop with their faith at the center. They each have a deep relationship with God and makes decisions with His help. There is trust issues they must deal with, but only through God can they overcome their hesitation. When Gran'nola turns up missing one day, will Rae and Malachi push their differences aside to find her? What happens when people from their past show up and interfere in their lives? I did like Malachi's ex girlfriend because she sure was determined to get her man back. I laughed at her subtle jabs she gave Rae as she believed she was going to get Malachi back .

I can't express enough how nice it was to read a story that dealt with real issues that we each may encounter and read the author's words of wisdom as she used God as her guide to write an uplifting story. We all need to learn how to trust with a pure heart, love unconditionally and let God direct our path. This sentence from the story was so powerful I wanted to end my review with it. "If God ordained it, He'll help you maintain it.
