( ) Connection to TCI Lesson 1: Describing Social Sciences Where the house on Maple Street stands now, there was a forest 300 years ago. This simple summary of how civilization came to one backyard traces back through the years: an Indian child loses an arrowhead, a pioneer child loses a china cup and both turn up in today's garden. The book's greatest assets are in the dark-toned but lively panoramas of wilderness becoming settlement, and then an everytown "Maple Street." As a preface to what children will find in the earliest school books on the American past, the book may help waken a historical sense, and Peck's rich colorings and details have strong visual appeal. This book recounts the history of the house on maple street. Two girl find some artifacts and they start to wonder how they got there. This book is great for students to understand how the world has changed and how various people have lived in the same places for years. This book is great for grades one through three. A cute and interesting book. This story tells what different things have occurred where the house is located in the last 300 years. Two little girls find a China cup and an arrow head which is what makes them start to wonder who it had belonged to and how long it had been there. A very interesting book that teaches a few things about history. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
