Interesting dilemma of good guy Paul versus bully Roth. Throw in a so-called freak named Shane who tries to keep the peace for all. No one in Paul's school is strong enough to resist Roth, except for Shane. Paul falls deeper and deeper into Roth's clutches, despite Shane doing what he can to help. Unfortunately, things don't turn out the way Paul had hoped. This is a classic tale of teacher and student bullying which, unfortunately, does nothing to dispel the fact that bullies get away with everything. ( )

The novel, The Knife That Killed Me, encompasses how the reality of bullying can push someone over the edge. In the beginning,Paul, the protaganist, struggles with high school life with bullies, girls and teachers that have no clue about life. Also, Paul struggles with the biggest bully in school. Roth, the bully, gives life threatning and devious ideas to Paul.
