I really like Mary Engelbreit artwork and I think it paired perfectly with classic Mother Goose rhymes and poetry. I would use this in a first or second grade classroom as an introduction to poetry. 5Q – although I’m not typically an Engelbreit fan, it’s hard to imagine a better fit for illustration of Mother Goose (see below). 5P – appealing on all levels – easy to read, share, and look at Wonderful read-aloud rendering of Mother Goose! The folk art (almost cartoon) illustrations are bright and colorful, whimsical, and with just enough details to engage and explore without being overwhelming. Text and illustrations are clear and large, and the book is large enough to hold up for read-aloud but not so large as to be awkward. The illustrations convey a playful mood and bring characters to life. ? – was this a perfect fit by design or another Engelbreit vehicle ? – what about the commercialization of classics like Mother Goose (imagine certain well known and marketed princesses, for example, illustrating Mother Goose) ? – beautiful multi-ethnic representation! editing to add - I did not listen to the CD yet. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
