Another board book built upon an innovative form, and really, so many of them are about making the books into unique interactive experiences, which is a good thing, because we want to teach our new readers that books are fun. As for this book, it is a book on wheels. The content is photographs of different types of buses accompanied by two to four word descriptions. Very basic. This is DK, so the visual element is fabulous, with great appealing photographs. The book is simple, but I don't hold that against it, because it's so supposed to be simple. Just think of this as a book for the earliest readers. They can learn new vocabulary, start to understand the correlation of printed words with spoken words, appreciate the pictures (most young kids love forms of transportation), and then play with it like a car. This is not a fabulous book, no, but it perfectly fulfills its role and has high production value. ( )
