I am a Nora Roberts fan. Sophia had had a devastating blow but wound up in a beautiful, even though scary and intriguing, setting. ( ) Oh, would you like to have an invisable maid who turns down or makes up your bed, doing all your kitchen duties and cleanup, including putting your dishes and groceries away, keeping all the rooms clean, keeping a fire going in the fireplaces and music playing, while anticipating your every move? Or would you rather have some evil one undermine and hinder you at every turn? In Inheritance by Nora Roberts, this keeps happening to Sonya after she moves in the majestic clifftop Victorian manor, Lost Brides Manor, which she must live there for at least three years to inherit the manor! The question is, can she live there and deal with what happens. Loved reading about the background on all the past inhabitants of this manor and especially what happened to each of the brides. Also learning about the friends and family members she meets along the way. Sure kept me reading to find out what happens next! There is a cliffhanger in the end but I plan on getting the next book when available! sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha

"Graphic designer Sonya MacTavish is stunned to learn that her late father had a twin he never knew about--and that her newly discovered uncle, Collin Poole, has left her almost everything he owned, including a majestic Victorian house on the Maine coast, which the will stipulates she must live in it for at least three years. Her engagement recently broken, she sets off to find out why the boys were separated at birth-and why it was all kept secret until a genealogy website brought it to light. Trey, theyoung lawyer who greets her at the sprawling clifftop manor, notes Sonya's unease-and acknowledges that yes, the place is haunted...but just a little. Sure enough, Sonya finds objects moved and music playing out of nowhere. She sees a painting by her father inexplicably hanging in her deceased uncle's office, and a portrait of a woman named Astrid, whom the lawyer refers to as "the first lost bride." It's becoming clear that Sonya has inherited far more than a house. She has inherited a centuries-old curse, and a puzzle to be solved if there is any hope of breaking it."-- Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |
