Another single joke Yakuza manga like The Way of the Househusband. Here the Yakuza gangster is a big fan of a K-pop boy band. All the humor revolves around how unlikely this is and how the people around him react when he shows up at a concert or fan events.

That's it.

There doesn't seem to be any larger story here. Just the juxtaposition jokes, and they wear out fairly quickly. I don't see any reason to continue with this. ( )

This was a fresh and funny read. It was quite different (in a good way) from what I imagined based on the summary. As someone who used to follow kpop and aware of things in a fandom, this manga was quite relatable and hilarious. Would recommend, especially to kpop fans.

I really enjoyed this manga, it was hilarious and heartwarming at the same time. It's funny in the same way that the Way of the House Husband is funny but with kpop, playing on the contrast between the KPop and the Yakuza worlds, showing the gangsters becoming die hard stans - but also showing the perspective of the idols, which was very well done as well, as they're so over the top nice.
I'd like to read the next one!

This was a hilarious read! The main plot line, of an older Yakuza member becoming a super fan of a K-Pop idol, is so silly, but it's a fun read. The chapters don't really follow an overarching plot line of any short, each chapter is more of random hijinks that Kanashiro gets into. A LOT of the comedy is the misunderstanding type of comedy, which I know it's everyone's cup of tea. This is a good read for when you just want to laugh. It does help if you know a little bit about how K-Pop stan culture functions, and how Yakuza life works, but neither is really needed to get the jokes. The footnotes of this novel make sure to explain things so you're never lost. The art style is interesting. I don't know why, but it feels very late 80s / early 90s with how it looks. It's also interesting to see such well-done detailed art you would normally find in a drama story, for a story that is almost slapstick comedy. Not sure if I would seek out another volume, but this was a fun read at least! ( )
