Tamara's coping strategy is to run away. While she's running, she starts noticing a preponderance of 99s in her life, culminating with finding the 99th St. Diner where she gets a job as a waitress and makes some friends. One friend in particular, Joe, she wishes could be more than friendship, but he is already involved with Sarah. For a while it looks as if the relationship between Joe and Tamara might work out, but then Tamara starts to doubt that the 99s are leading her to a better life and tries to revert to her well known coping skill. It isn't until she hears the story about Jesus leaving the 99 sheep to find the one lost one that she understands why so many 99s were put into her life.

The ending had me crying. ( )
