Vanilla thinks he is the greatest flavor in the world. He bullies Pistachio over it. The others ice creams and toppings get together to show Vanilla how wrong he it.

I liked how the others came to Pistachio's side readying to defend him as they listed how they all helped make Vanilla the greatest of the flavors. They pound him and pelt him. They show him the errors of his thoughts. Vanilla had to see where they were right. I liked when Vanilla admitted that it was the toppings that made him. I appreciated his apology.

I look forward to more from this author. ( )

War at the Ice Cream Store is the cutest way to teach kids about bullying. The author did a wonderful job of bringing these characters to life for little ones and the illustrations are perfectly done as well... Little ones will enjoy learning how Mustachio Pistachio and his "flavorite" friends teach Bully Vanilla about kindness and acceptance.

I would like to thank the author and iRead Book Tours for the review copy in exchange for my honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. ( )

The “TL Frogg and Friends Series” includes Cheryl DaVeiga and Dave Gibson's War at the Ice Cream Store. The book opens with an introduction to TL Frogg along with details of additional resources available.

Bully Vanilli reigns over the ice cream flavors at The Frozen Frogg Ice Cream Shop on Main Street and enjoys using his influence and notoriety to be a bully. The loneliest of the ice creams, Mustachio Pistachio, is one of his favorite ice creams to bully and harass.

The narrative realistically and eloquently illustrates Bully Vanilli's reign of terror. The illustrations colorfully and vividly depict life for the ice cream flavors. It got to the point where my two-year-old granddaughter vehemently announced that she DID NOT LIKE Bully Vanilli and wanted to HELP Mustachio Pistachio instead! In addition, she decided that she wanted lots and lots of sprinkles and an honorary mustache.

We enjoyed the story. In hindsight, I believe the g'daughter was a little upset by the bullying. It's possible that I should have waited till she was a little older since she hasn't yet experienced, or really heard of, bullying because they haven't been depicted in our reading material to the same degree as they are in War at the Ice Cream Store. In her little life the world is still a benevolent place.

The tale is filled with cute puns and ice cream names, which will also heighten its appeal to adults. To further enhance the enjoyment of the book, there is also an activity booklet full of fun projects that can be purchased.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from iRead Book Tours. I voluntarily chose to read and post an honest review. ( )

This is a great book on "bullying" and "working together" for pre-school age children

Train your toddler/pre-schooler about the unpopular "bully" with this comical children's story, War at the Ice Cream Store. This is a new approach to each children from a very young age tha bullying is a bad thing and working together in kindness is a good thing.
The book is very colorfully illustrate by Dave Gibson, Sarah Krogman and Jay Petsko. The cartoon characters are amusingly animated on each page, with a variety of bright colors. it is sure to capture each very young child's attention.
It is a little silly, but along with the book is a se of stickers the child can stick on himself/herself to portray one of the characters.
There is also a website address children can go to with music and puppets portraying the adventures.
This is a terrific book for Summer Reading Programs.

*This book was gifted me with no pressure to write a positive review. This is my honest review. ( )

War at the Ice Cream Store Mustachio Pistachio vs Bully Vanilli (Frank Tl Frogg and Friends) by Cheryl DaVeiga and Dave Gibson is a fun, funny story that takes place in an ice cream story with a whole lot of flavors of ice cream. The story is kinda silly as each of the ice cream flavors communicate with each other. Each flavor got along well except Bulli Vanilli because he thinks he’s the best of them and he is so rude and picks on Mustachio Pistachio really a lot. The ice cream flavors soon gets tired of hearing Bulli Vanilli always being negative and bullying everyone else, especially their friend Mustachio Pistachio so they decide to teach him a lesson and give Bulli Vanilli a taste of his own actions.

This is a very cute story and very clever way of teaching children valuable lessons. I love the story and all of the cute ice cream flavors. We need books to teach children the consequences of bullying and that it is do wrong and hurtful to others. My only problem with this story is, I’m not so sure it is right teaching kids to bully someone who is bullying others. It’s like trying to teach a wrong with a wrong. I would read the book to children but stress it is not the right thing to do to Bully anyone for any reason. There is also an interactive multimedia version, which includeds videos that I think would be wonderful. I didn’t get to read it but strongly encourage you to read this copy of the book. This book would be great anywhere kids will be, whether it be a classroom, daycare or the many places our kids are.

There are three illustrators with this book. Sarah Krogman, Dave Gibson and Jay Petsko really do a fabulous job with the illustrations. The book cover is awesome and the characters as well as every picture is so vividly beautiful that children everywhere will be wanting to read this book when they see it. The inside, each page tells the story so wonderfully. This really is a beautiful book.

A special thanks to the author/publisher for a copy of this book. I am not required to write a positive review, the opinions here are mine alone. I am disclosing this with my review in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255. ( )
