The book works perfectly in three languages, English, Spanish, and French (English, Español, and Français). In each case, deceptively simple paper cuts will delight the eye while young readers explore words in three languages. The book has been carefully constructed to accommodate each language, including the letters which occur in Spanish, but not in English or French. Earlier collaborations by Tom Slaughter and Marthe Jocelyn have received raves from critics. This is a unique ABC book in that it is written in three languages simultaneously- English, Spanish and French. Pictures are simple cut-paper with bold colors and clean lines. Each letter shows the word (in three languages) and a picture. Any letters in Spanish and French not found in English, are also placed in order where they fit within the English alphabet. This book does not have a common theme (such as the farm) in John Deere Farm ABC; but its value is in its simplicity connecting a picture to a word and letter.
