This is another strong entry in the Thieves & Kings series. The books are a little difficult to review independently as they don't really form definite story arcs. They're linked together in the same way a soap opera is; things are resolved in each volume, but new storylines are always starting up.

So I find myself saying the same things over and over again. The characterization and plotting are great. The story moves forward in leaps and bounds, but at the same time Oakley gives us plenty of time to get to know these people. The art is fantastic, especially where the architectural details are concerned. The books are fun, serious, epic, personal, hilarious and dark, all at once. And this one is no exception.

I really encourage you to check them out, but they ought to be read in order for best effect. The story is so cumulative that I doubt it'll be nearly as good if you don't start at the beginning.
