This book explains what happens when you go to the doctor for a check up. The character Piggy is getting a check up and she brings her doll with her. It describes what the doctor does to Piggy while she is in the doctors office. When she gets weighting her. The doctor looking in her ear. Listening to her heart and even a shot. But Piggy doesn’t do all this alone her doll Lemonade, was there to be by her side and endure the same things.

Over all I was impressed with the book. Because it tell a child exactly what will happen to you when you get a check-up, even down to the shot she gets. I figured this book would leave out the bad stuff kids never want to hear about and only focus on the good stuff. But it didn’t.

After reading this book I would allow the children to draw a picture of when they went to the doctor. Give them a booklet to do a step by step process of when they last went to the doctor. Then I would have them play in center and be doctors for the day. Checking each other ear, heart beat, and leg reflex. If possible get the real thing for them to play with. ( )

Little Piggy and her doll Lemonade go through a checkup, complete with shots. We read this a lot at our house. Not great on plot, but great for helping prep doctors' visits (which occur too often in our house).
