Alexis Morgan has spent the past eight years devoted to turning her tiny start-up into Manhattan's premiere wedding planning company, The Wedding Belles. Now that her business is thriving, it's time to turn towards her much neglected personal life, and Alexis approaches her relationships like she does everything else: with a plan. Not a part of that plan is Logan Harris, the silent partner in the Belles, and the one person who's been there for her since the very beginning. But Alexis needs someone fun, and Logan's all business, all the time-except when a late night at the office ends with an unexpected kiss that leaves Alexis reeling. Logan has lusted after Alexis since the day he walked into the tiny Harlem apartment that used to double as her office. But the ambitious wedding planner has always been untouchable...until now. Alexis has made it clear that she's on the dating market-and equally clear that he's not in the running. But when Alexis finds herself in need of a date for her sister's last-minute wedding, Logan knows it's the perfect time to show Alexis that there's more to him than numbers and spreadsheets-and beneath the pinstripes and glasses lies a hot-blooded heartthrob.… (mais)

Thank goodness books #1 and #3 were so good, because book #2 almost derailed the whole thing. Of course we have Josh making appearances and showing up, and yup still a jackass so that was great (not great, not great at all) and we have previous heroes/heroines showing up, but they managed to enhance the story. I wish though that we had seen this in previous books more than we did in this one though.

Also, I liked the character of Logan, but I call BS on what he ends up doing when he doesn't get the right response from Alexis. I had some Roarke and Eve (In Death series) flashbacks and I always hated how heavy-handed Roarke was with Eve earlier on in their relationship because hey he was in love so she needed to be too and needed to just give over instead of him being patient and understanding her.

Alexis Morgan has always wanted to be a wedding planner. So when she gets the chance to make her dream a reality by agreeing to a silent partner (Logan Harris) takes him up on his offer. Cue 8 years later and Alexis looks around her and sees that her co-worker/friends are all almost coupled up. She starts to wonder if putting her business first was smart all these years. And then she realizes that her long time partner and friend Logan may be just who she needs to ease her back into the world of romance.

Logan has been pretty much in love with Alexis from first sight. We know this from books #1 and #2 and we have the first meeting of these two in book #3. I really thought out of all of the couples, Alexis and Logan made the most sense. You got the chemistry between them for days. But just like with the last book, I had some serious really issues with none of them sharing significant details with each other really until a good 3/4 of the book. It doesn't make sense since these two have known each other so long. Of course we have it that it's because Alexis is cold and business like, etc. and I was all what? I also thought that Logan's family giving him an ultimatum didn't make a lot of sense. You have a kid leaving overseas and establishing businesses and you are still oh yeah he's going to come home and live permanently one day was odd.

Also speaking of Alexis, I got that she was competent and very good at her job in books #1 and #2. All of a sudden in this one, she doesn't get how dating apps work, doesn't know how to curl her hair or put on makeup. Are you serious? I mean we have Heather I think mentioning video vloggers and I just shook my head. Alexis is at least 32 I think in this story, you are telling me you haven't heard of Tindr, OK Cupid, etc.? She's a wedding planner, it doesn't make any sense that she doesn't know of these things. I did like how Alexis finally has it out with her mother and talks to her slightly estranged sister by the end of the book though. When you do find out why Alexis swears off romance, I did feel for her a lot. I can't even imagine a scenario like the one she goes through.

The secondary characters are much more developed in this one than in previous books. We have Alexis's family and Logan's family a constant in their lives which I thought was nice. We also have appearances from the other characters. I also really didn't get a sense of camaraderie between the women in this one though. It's so odd how Heather and Brooke talk about how close they are in books #1 and #2 and Alexis is all well I work with these people. It's pretty funny to me that was her impression of things.

The writing was great and I have to say the love scenes were fantastic. I definitely enjoyed this one a lot. Logan and Alexis are very hot and I was rooting for them the whole book.

The setting in this book seems mostly focused on The Wedding Belles business (because Alexis lives upstairs) and I got a real sense of her based on her apartment and how the business looked.

The ending towards this book honestly reminded me a bit of one of Nora Roberts wedding quartet books. I also though the epilogue just glossed over a lot of things that I wanted to find out more about (Alexis and Logan's family). ( )

Logan may not have all the standard qualities of a heartthrob, but what he lacks in flamboyant sex appeal, he makes up for with his heart. That was evidenced in the way he helped out a stranger in need of a friend. Alexis took him for granted, but I don't think she did so maliciously. Her dedication to her business success, made her clueless to the gift that had been right in front of her for years. Her very own Prince Charming. The Wedding Belles series combines words of wisdom, adorable characters and witty but emotional filled plot lines into a sentimental bundle of joy. Logan is my favorite character. ( )

Alexis Morgan is finally making her dreams come true, by owning her own wedding planning boutique, we'll she will if she could get funding…luckily for her, her English knight (aka Logan Harris) can make her dreams come true! But is it too much to good to be true that a guy offered her money, in a dive bar of all places, to help her start up Wedding Belles? And is Alexis willing to accept a silent partner, in her dream? The answer would be yes!

Logan Harris; British CPA and silent partner in Wedding Belles! But no closer to Alexis! He has loved her from the moment he met her, in that bar, but it's 8 years later and nothing has changed! Accept his demands from his parents to come home and run the family business.

Logan has decided to give it his all with Alexis! To help her get past the pain of a broken love! And if she doesn't accept him…he will give up everything, including their partnership!!

FINALLY!! We are finally at Logan and Alexis story, and I have to say, this is the one I have been most excited for!! Not only because it's it's the finally, we will find out their past! How they met etc… But also because I'm a British Expat, I love to see how American authors write about us.

When it came to the characters, I found Alexis a little annoying in her obliviousness to Logans feelings! She comes off as a little self-absorbed, and that is not how I had originally pictured her in my mind, which was a little sad. Logan's character made me laugh! He certainly takes his British stereotypical to the max! Not only with the slang, but being so non-confrontational and being willing to wait 8 years! But despite minor things, the book was amazing and buy the end I was in tears and cheering! Though I did think it was touch and go there for a bit.

The plot is unexpected and entering. And the writing is distinctly Lauren Layne! Beautiful, thrilling, with a curveball at the last moment.

I give To Love and To Cherish 4 stars. ( )

This was one of those occasions where I wished I had (physically) read the book first. The story was probably better than the stars I'm giving it, but the narrator was so poor, I'm not sure they didn't affect the rating.

I had read the 2nd book in the series, so was familiar with the main characters and their history together. I was curious to see how they would become a couple, after 8 years of knowing each other. Well enough, I suppose, but definitely not with burning love, nor a tension-filled lead-up.

The Narrator affected every part of this story. She was unable to use a consistent British dialect for Logan and made Alexis sound whiny and petulant. Actually, Logan sounded a little petulant, too. There was not enough energy in the reading of the story; it felt like the narrator was just "ready to be done for the day." Bored. Uninspired. Pedantic. I'd skip any books this narrator does for awhile. Maybe with time, she'll improve, but it won't be with my ears listening.

Authors out there, if you have any say in who the narrator will be, make sure you listen to them reading a few books first. ( )

To Love and to Cherish by Lauren Layne is a 2016 Pocket Books publication. I was provided a copy of this book as an XOXpert, the official street team of XOXO After Dark.

Enchanting cast of characters, poignant and deliciously sexy!!

Alexis has finally gotten her wedding planning business off and running and is basking in her success, when out of the blue her mother drops a bombshell on her, which has her contemplating the need to put a little effort into her own personal life now.

Logan, who is from across the pond, is here in America to build his own business interests. It’s been nearly ten years since he became a silent partner in ‘The Wedding Belles’, and nearly ten years since he fell in love with Alexis Morgan. But, with his father pressuring him to return home, he must decide if he has a reason to stay in America.

Can he finally get Alexis to notice him? Will Alexis be able to risk her heart again?

I have a hard time getting through series from start to finish sometimes. The books have to be really special in order for me to seek them out and make a concerted effort to read them in order. This has been one of those series. I loved every single book in the Wedding Belles series and I’m very sad to see it end.

But, if it must come to a conclusion, at least it went out on a high note.

Ladies, I think you will fall head over heels for Logan, especially if you like a guy with a sexy accent. He stole my heart!!

Alexis is good at what she does professionally, but her personal life is dry as a bone. But, once her story comes out, it’s understandable. Her fear is almost paralyzing and her heart is still tender and raw despite the passage of time, but I did get frustrated with her because she let fear rule her heart, which could cost her that elusive happily ever after… plus she was breaking poor Logan’s heart. Grrr!!

But, I seriously loved them both and enjoyed touching base with the characters from previous installments, as well.

Lauren Layne is an author I’ve followed for a while now, and with each new book, she gets better and better. This series, in particular, is super romantic and sensual, as well charming and witty, and superbly written.

Overall, I highly recommend this series to all lovers of romance!! ( )
