Great concept and very erudite but it's a bit of a slog to read my way through. Maybe that says more about me than the book? Nevertheless, if you're interested in the way in which Anglo-American relations developed in the years after the Revolution, this is a great book to fill you in. I loved the materials on literary culture most of all and found the tension of the commercial elements of early copyright an interesting sideline to colonials with chips on their shoulders versus Britons who were best by virtue of their Britishness!
