The story in the second book takes place shortly after the first one ended. Like the first book, the story takes the view points of several isolated survivors, most from the original story, but many new personalities are introduced as the original band of survivors strike out to identify and help other bands of survivors.
I did not enjoy this book as much as the first, primarily because I disliked a new character who dominates the story. The story revolves around a conflict that the original group has with a newly-discovered, survivalist, polygamist Mormon sect, and less upon fighting the vampires & zombies. I enjoyed the action more when the monsters were the enemies, not the humans, though I agree with the author that humans would certainly be part of the problem in an survival scenario.
Still, Death by Revelation takes s a refreshingly different perspective on the zombie apocalypse story, and is well worth reading. Just make sure you read the first book as well! ( )
