This is one of the few books I have read that has made me cry. I really enjoyed this book. The message of the book is repeated many times by the title character: "There is magic in believeing in something good with all your heart." The character of Ellie is one that is very well developed and relatable. Most people can admit they've had imaginary friends or have experienced things that seemed quite magical, despite them being rather small or normal to many. By reading Ellie's experiences, it can be something you can think about and compare your own to hers. The pacing of the events in the plot were also well done. Even if the events were brief, there was a flow between the parts and nothing seemed out of place or oddly handled. The flow was easy to follow and the events became predictable but in a good way.
