Summary – Splat the Cat is worried because he can’t find the Easter Bunny to tell him what he wants for Easter. He looks all over the town to find him and when he goes to bed, he’s very sad. The next morning when Splat wakes up, he has gotten a very big Easter egg, just like he wanted.

Personal Response – This book has colorful and fun illustrations. The story is great for little kids and the lift-the-flap pages are fun and exciting to see what’s behind them. Splat the Cat and his friends are cute and entertaining to read about.

Curricular Connections – This book could be used in an elementary classroom during the spring to help get ready for Easter. They could have the book read to them and then make their own Splat the Cat book or illustrations. First or second graders could also make their own Easter story with illustrations. ( )

It was a lift-the-flap kind of book! I really admired the artwork because the main characters' fur was so realistic, I could have almost sworn I could feel its texture by touching it. I enjoyed that there was a funny duck on EVERY page, something that could become a scavenger hunt for kids when reading this book.
