1Blythewood
I am currently reading Juliet Barker's book, "Conquest: The English Kingdom of France," on the Hundred Years' War. This is the first book devoted to this conflict that I have read (I have Desmond Seward's book on my shelf but have not yet read it). Anyway, Barker's book deals a lot with the battles, which, of course, is core to any war. However, I am more curious about English Administration of France and the political dynamics of the war.

I would recommend Desmond Seward's book as a must read for the era, and it provides a balanced narrative, both martial and civic.
