Why do you then Steve Berry killed off Henrik Thorvaldsen? Is this a good decision for the series?

Some will think it is and others won't. I'll miss Henrik even though he wasn't always a good guy. I think Berry has given us Sam as a replacement.

I think it was a good idea. It's important to keep a series fresh and after the first two books, Henrik was becoming a minor character.

I think Berry has other characters to introduce and Henrik was very old.

As may be clear from previous replies, I'm not certain why Berry did this - though I do wonder whether Cotton may now inherit Henrik's empire?

>2 Carol420: He can take Sam back, a poor substitute IMHO. >5 Sergeirocks: I do wonder if Cotton will turn out to be his inheritor.
If you wanted to kill someone offf, kill off Stephanie! I think this could detract from the series for me.

>6 Andrew-theQM: LOL. I don't like Stephanie much either. We need a new head of the Magellan.

I think it's an interesting idea to kill him off. I like the character but agree this will keep the series fresh. Killing Hendrik may change the whole dynamic of future storyline. It's also is a fairly traumatic event for Cotton personally. I'm sure his psyche has been quite bruised by this. Will be curious to see how this changes his relationships with others.

>7 bluebird_: I agree with you that this will be a big issue for cotton going forward.

>5 Sergeirocks: Since we didn't get info on his will, I have wondered that as well
