Though not my favorite children's book, I did find this book to be beneficial. Obviously a very important aspect of our American history, this book briefly touches on our first United States President. I did in fact learn some things about the early life of George Washington. The text of this book is informative and is accompanied by bright, simple illustrations.
This brief, biographical account of Abraham Lincoln was informative and age appropriate for even young readers. I will admit, that history is not typically very interesting to me. If I have a choice, biographical or historical children's books are not my first choice. However, I did enjoy reading this book and I did indeed learn some things about the life of Abraham Lincoln. I think this book is a valuable addition to the classroom from which young readers can benefit.
