Mostly a picture book, which is great. Also many little nuggets of interesting information.

Photographs of Midwestern houses, focusing on the styles of different periods. Beautiful photographs, beginning with log cabins of the 1790s and ending with Modernistic styles of the 1930s. If you enjoyed the historical aspect of "Farm: The Vernacular Tradition of Working Buildings" you will also enjoy this book.
