Rattled is the 2nd book in the Devil's Handmaidens MC: Alaska chapter series by E.M. Shue. This is a short second-chance secret marriage romance that reveals the betrayal surrounding Jinx and Reaper. Before reading this book you need to read Off Balance from the Pandora series to see where this relationship started.
Jinx woke up alone and married with Reaper gone like he'd never been there. She went home and tried to get over the heartbreak while keeping his secrets from her club. When tragedy strikes in her hometown she moves back to Alaska with Scout to start a new chapter she's now the VP of. Reaper never left Jinx fully like she thought. When his boss called and wanted him to arrest her for the murder of a sex trafficker he knew he'd protect her at all costs including staying married. With the help of his brother Titan, he's kept eyes on Jinx while trying to close all his cases so he can officially resign and be with Jinx. When he finds out she's in danger he packs up and heads to Alaska to make sure she stays safe and get his wife back. But will she forgive him for what he did?
I gave this a 3-star rating and a 4-spicy rating. I love the relationship between Jinx and Reaper, they're imperfectly perfect together. I've been waiting to read the rest of their story for a while now. My only disappointment was first that the book was so short which I could deal with until I started reading and realized the first half of the book is from Wrecked just re-written from Jinx and Reapers POV so it felt like I was re-reading something I just read not to long ago. Once it got to the present and what was happening after Wrecked, it got good, and I enjoyed it. It pulled me in enough that I can't wait to read the next book Ruined to find out what happens to Stormy.

Off Balance is a quick insta-love read by E.M. Shue in the Pandora series. For such a quick read I didn't expect it to be as intense as it was or have so much going on at once. In E.M. Shue fashion it gets very steamy and with this couple a bit kinky as well.
River is a drag racer for the Devil's Handmaidens MC and the Drago Defiance MC wants her to race for them this upcoming season. The minute their road captain Reaper sees her he's in love. He knows he'll have her and never let anything hurt her, even if that threatens everything he's been building and working on. When Snake the money backer tells River she has to go to his Plantation to finalize the deal, Reaper immediately says he's going to, pissing Snake off. Things start happening to them as soon as they enter Pandora. Finding a brooch on the side of the road puts a curse on them they don't believe at first. They both knew Snake had ulterior motives but not what they were. To keep River safe Reaper has to reveal who he is to her and marry her. They just don't get the happy ending River was hoping for.
I gave this a 4-star rating and a 4-spicy rating. I love the intensity between River and Reaper even when his secrets come out. These two were made for each other. The curse that was thrown in made things more interesting since one believed in it and one didn't. Off Balance was a good start to River and Reaper's relationship and you can read what happens to them when they leave Pandora in Rattled, book 2 of the Devil's Handmaidens MC: Alaska chapter. I for one am rooting for them to make it for the long haul.

Wrecked is the 1st book in E.M. Shue's Devil's Handmaidens MC: Alaska Chapter series is the 1st book I've read of E.M. Shue's and 1st I've read in this series. And I have to say I really enjoyed it and will be reading more. I wish it wouldn't have taken me this long to find this series. This read is a second-chance romance full of twists and turns, lies and betrayal, and heartache, and it gets pretty steamy. It's really nice to read about a female MC since there aren't many I have found out there to read.
In this book, we get to meet all the members of the Devil's Handmaidens Alaska chapter. A family tragedy brought Scout and her daughter Sky home to Alaska to open her MC chapter after leaving 10 years earlier after having her heart broken and being betrayed. But the events that made her leave in the 1st place are nowhere near over. Now she has to prepare to finally deal with what happened with her ex Thad who's now a state trooper. Things keep happening in their town and it all leads back to Scout. There was a lot happening in this book. An enemy circling striking whenever he wants and then small-town gossip and lies. Like the ones that made Scout leave home pregnant when she did. How Thad turned out to be a good man like he is was amazing to me considering what his mom was like. And Scout is an amazingly strong woman to go through what she did, becoming a single mom to a pretty awesome little girl, finishing school, and becoming a successful businesswoman when the odds were against her. This book is a good example that love can actually conquer all when you're meant to be together. And sometimes a second chance is really what you need.
I gave this book a 4-star rating and a 4-spicy rating. I loved how this book kept me engaged making me try to figure out who was hurting everyone around her and what Thad's mom would do next. I can't wait to read about River the VP and Frenchie the Secretary. They were 2 of my favorite characters introduced in this book. The steamy scenes were HOT! I wish the book would have been a bit longer so there could have been more. Overall, this book was really enjoyable and I definitely recommend reading it. I can't wait for the next book Rattled to come out.
