Lilian Obligado

This book has a great story line about a little boy (Pierre) and girl (Valerie) who grow up on a cow farm. The little boy's cow is named Melody and she is getting too old now to produce the amount of milk needed compared to the other cows. However, Pierre is so disappointed when he over hears his dad saying that he will be selling Melody at the end of the summer because she is not producing enough milk for even a chocolate bar. When they are gone to the chalet, Valerie's horse gets lose and runs away. Meanwhile, Pierre and Valerie hear Melody 'moooing' so they follow her. It turns up that Melody took them to Valerie's cow Buttercup and they were able to get her help. When it is time to go home, Pierre gets upset because he knows Melody is leaving. When the family arrives back to their house they are pleasantly surprised to find out that everyone knows about Melody finding Buttercup. A neighbor asks Pierre if he can take pictures of Melody and make her the "Chocolate Cow" for the local Chocolate bar factory.… (mais)
