This colorful book is chock-full of illustrations that do not just seek to amaze with unusual pictures - it also gives answers as to just why your eyes are tricked by those constantly moving illustrations, and lines that don't look the same length, but, when measured, are. The author gives a simple explanation of how the eye works with the brain, and then demonstrates with some pretty neat "magic" tricks. Many different types of illusions are covered; from the natural, such as the rainbow, to mechanical illusions, such as why a car's wheels seem to turn the wrong way in a movie or on a tv screen. Moving pictures, stereo vision, holograms and stereograms are also covered, all in an easy, entertaining way that any reader can understand. It's fascinating!… (mais)
