This research summay about the importance of Place-Based Education and Outdoor/Environmental Education is good on the one hand, because it provides support for thesetypes of education methods based on research. However, it is also very repetitive and can be quickly summarized: outdoor education makes kids smarter, healthier, more engaged, and better environmental stewards. This is not new to anyone, I should think. If you do need to convince someone of the importance of kids playing in nature (structured and unstructured) then this information is helpful.
