An okay quick read. Pleasant characters. No real depth.

Photographer Maggie Copeland vowed never to return home to Whidbey Island. But when her brother asks for a favor, she finds herself back in the small town and entertaining salacious thoughts of the sexy stranger she met on the beach. That is until she learns Jack Callahan is a Navy pilot exactly like the man who left her standing at the altar.

A sweet and sexy read that is, unfortunately, undermined by a silly misunderstanding toward the end.

Maggie and Jack are likable characters and they have great chemistry. It is a pity that their relatively angst-free romance is almost ruined by their lack of communication.

Another annoying element is the fact that Maggie's two-timing fiance is not only redeemed but gets his own happy ending. Really?!

Karen Foley's writing style is entertaining despite these issues and I will read more of her books.

A Hummingbird Christmas is the first book I’ve read by Karen Foley, but I will be reading more. This was the perfect Christmas time romance, sweet with lots of sexual tension and some hot scenes. I really appreciate when authors don’t drag out the trope; I can’t be with them because…. Of course, there was a bit of it, along with enemies to lovers (although that lasted for just a nanosecond).

I also really enjoyed that Foley infused a lot of the Christmas spirit throughout the entire book. Some authors use it just as a ploy to sell a Holiday book, but when I read a Christmas romance, I want cookies, decorations, tree picking, and festivals, which Foley does perfectly.

There were some tense moments and dramatic ones that kept the story flowing nicely in between the flirting and getting to know each other. A bit of magical realism with the hummingbirds and some tears at the end when we find out some information about a character. All in all, a wonderfully magical Christmas romance.

"5 out of 5 stars!! Joy's Christmas wish is to give her five-year-old daughter the best holiday ever. So, in hopes of a winter wonderland Christmas they head to her in-laws house in Montana where they find that everyone seems to need a bit of holiday magic....

In truth, I was on the fence about this novel from its beginning, but I am sooo happy that I stuck with it! It is a ..."

Tyler lives and breaths smokejumping. That's all he's ever known and all he's ever wanted to be. So when he's off doing his job and rescuing the people stranded in a wolf sanctuary he's not prepared to meet the woman of his dreams. So he does what he does best and sends them off to safety. Soon after he ends up in hospital for work-related fatigue and smoke inhalation. Again his unexpected encounter with Callie leaves him questioning his decision to stay detached.

Callie's preoccupied with nursing her dad back to health and finding a permanent home for the surviving wolves from the sanctuary. But Tyler is a welcome distraction, for the moment. Even though she knows her feelings for Tyler are not to be take mildly, she knows that making this a long term relationship is going to be next to impossible. So when she breaks it off with him in hopes of saving her from heartbreak later, she realises that she's already too far gone. Thank goodness Tyler comes to the same conclusion and we get a lovely HEA where all parties concerned make the best of decisions.

A sweet and beautiful tale of Love and Christmas Miracles. Joy and Cole's tale is right out of a really good Hallmark movie.

Very sweet romance that did not have that annoying romance plot convention where the couple has a fight then has to get back together.

Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..(netgalley) Well I guess the name says it all a slow burn, because I found it too slow for me, and I was bored I couldn't really get into it. We have the small town dilemma's that they just know your business and can be small minded. Hayley is trying to start over, but that can be difficult where she is at. Then there is Dylan an adreline junkie, yes they are interested but can they? Twist and turns, it not a bad book and I am sure many will enjoy but I like it a little quicker.

This is a sweet, romantic story. Cole is a bit hard to like in the beginning, but that changes as the story unfolds. Joy is very likable and sweet. The storyline is engrossing and enjoyable, with some touching moments.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from LibraryThing. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.

Quick read which fits this busy season for me! Loved the story and even tho it wasn't very long the characters were given enough background that had the depth that you don't get from some shorter stories. This book pulled at the heart strings yet it still was a good seasonal read.
I received this book from LibraythingThing Early reviewers for my honest review.

Joy and her five year old daughter Piper are visiting her inlaws in Montana for Christmas. Her husband Matt died a few years back. She meets Cole, a friend of Matt and naturally falls in love with him. A nice romance set in Christmas time. I liked it.
Disclaimer: I got this book in the Librarything Early Reviewers.

I really liked this sweet, Christmas story. Cole hasn't celebrated Christmas in years. Not since he was a little boy and his father left him on Christmas Eve. Joy hadn't been to her husband's parent's house for Christmas before, but her daughter wanted a white Christmas. When Joy has an accident on the way to the house, Cole rescues her and Piper. Cole expected not to like his best friend's widow, but is immediately charmed by Piper and Joy. As Joy spends more time with Cole, she realizes that her heart is still beating and Cole makes it beat a little harder. Piper is able to charm everyone she meets and makes everyone's Christmas just a bit better.

I was asked to review this book by Librarything.com

This is a cute festive read ideal for the upcoming holidays when you want to take yourself off drink some gingerbread latte and snuggle up with the festive pjs.

This is a story of hope and a new start.

Joy Holliday takes her five year old daughter, Piper, to stay in Glacier Creek with her late husbands parents She's travelled there after reading Piper's letter to Father Christmas one of her wishes is to see snow.

Christmas will not be easy for them, but Joy is a wonderful mother Piper is cute.

They meet a friend of her late husband Cole - he has problems of his own and Christmas is not a great time for him either as he was abandoned on Christmas Eve as a child! Sounds a little too much - readers it is a beautiful story of hope, new happenings and light at the end of a horrid dark tunnel.

Will this be a good ending - read it and see.

A Hummingbird Christmas By Karen Foley
Book starts out with Joy and her daughter Piper who have traveled to Glacier Creek, MT to spend time with her dead husbands family.
Her husband was a smoke jumper jumping from planes to fight fires, along with his best friend Cole Tanner who she just crashed into on the blizzard road.
He drives them to their destination and eases Piper into seeing all the cookies that were made just for her.
Joy's job here will be getting everyone to help celebrate this holiday, even though they are down in the dumps that Matt isn't there with them...
They also see the hummingbird and Joy says it's a sign from heaven where Matt is. It's winter and they are not known for the cold weather. I have heard the same about cardinals-a sign from heaven.
Cole takes them into town for the festivals and Piper is overjoyed.
Love hearing from others who live and work in the town, such a welcome and warm community. His secrets do come out but is it what she wants to hear about....she has her own problems and wants to keep them to herself.
Like how the parents treat them both and how changes need to come about as they've all been grieving too long.
Kind of a predictable story line but the process was good.
Like hearing of his and her careers and how they are done, also holiday decorating. Sex and romance are indicated by not expressed.
Other works from Tule Publishing are highlighted at the end and an excerpt from Heat by karen Foley is included.
Won this in a book contest and this is my honest opinion.

A Hummingbird Christmas by Karen Foley
Glacier Creek #1

Looking for a sweet Christmas romance filled with the magic of the holidays? If you believe in miracles, omens, signs sent by those departed and like a HEA then look no further. In fact, at one point I had a tingle or two in spite of having a pretty good idea what might happen next. The romance between Joy and Cole along with the festivities, family and fun all go together like clockwork and provide the perfect backdrop for this delightful story. There is one rough patch to deal with but all in all this was fun from beginning to end. And the hummingbird…well…some might think it a bit hokey BUT it works very VERY well in this story!

Thank you to NetGalley and Tule Publishing for the ARC – This is my honest review.
