glycemic index more important than complex vs. simple carbs

Worth it for the extensive GI values list at the back, as well as for the recipes. The intro to GI and why it's helpful for dealing with PCOS is overly long and repetitive. They could've said the same thing in half the pages.

Understanding what we eat and how it affects our health is vital. This book deftly accomplishes this task, giving us food for thought each time we reach for our next meal.

Certainly worth it if you have PCOS. Glucose Revolution seems to be in tune with Weight Watchers and Volumetrics and all the other books/programs that tell you to stick to "filling foods" or at least ones made from real food and that aren't highly processed. I went back to WW shortly after reading this book, so I'm not following the plan outlined here to a T, but I am taking a lot of their suggestions into consideration as I eat my daily points.

A very helpful book for someone who has just been instructed to pursue managing her PCOS more actively by her doctor! Has some good looking recipes for low GI eating and has useful explanations for the mechanisms behind PCOS.

A good book that provides a great deal of information for its price.

The five chapters are: understanding PCOS, all about carbohydrates and the GI of foods, taking charge, putting the GI to work in your day, and recipes. As well as this there is an A-Z of GI and GL in the form of tables, a good glossary and an easy to use index (including a recipe index separately).

The book is easy to read and will not bamboozle you. When I was first diagnosed this is one of the books I bought and is up there amongst the favourites.

I found this really hard to get my head around. I use it as a 'dipping into' book. The best bit about the book are the menus and they are good. However I find the quizzes and the exercises simply not interesting. I'd much rather have paid the money for a condensed version that included the menus.

There are better books out there which are more informative and don't regurgitate ideas.
