We first met Navy SEAL Carson Scott in book #1, [b:Heat of the Moment|6124672|Heat of the Moment (Out of Uniform, #1)|Elle Kennedy|http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/410tpKZ8SGL._SL75_.jpg|6303134]. This story picks up six months afterwards, and Carson is attending John and Shelby's stag/bachelorette party at a nightclub. Seeing his friends so ridiculously in love sparks off a little bit of envy followed by a bout of contemplation over his life thus far. He's tired of his wild ways of one night stands and kinky sex. He wants to give a relationship with one woman a try. That plan is momentarily thrown off kilter when a sexy woman named Jessica asks him to dance. They end up in the supply closet of the club where they rock each other's world. As soon as it's over, she disappears, much to Carson's disappointment. Holly Lawson is still recovering from her broken heart because her boyfriend, Steve, dumped her. She's at work, a caterer at John and Shelby's wedding reception when she sees the hunky SEAL from her one night stand. Surprise! The surprise is mutual. Carson seems to think it's fate that brings the two of them together, and now he put his plan in motion to ask her on a date and do the normal thing. Things don't go as planned when she tells him that all she wants is sex, a fling. Determined to stick to his guns, Carson turns her down saying that those wild days of his are over and that he wants more. She tells him that if he changes his mind, to give her a call. A few days go by and neither can get the other out of their head. Holly waits around hoping her sexy SEAL will call and agree to her terms; Carson isn't sure what he should do. His friend, Will suggests he should give in and bed her then work on her for the more. Sounds like a sound plan, right? This story was really cute, mainly because of Carson. It's ironic that the one time Carson decides to do what most women want, he ends up falling for one who wants the exact opposite. She claims it's because of her bad break up, and her schooling, her job and the fact that she's responsible for her family, who can't seem to function without her doing everything for them at the drop of a hat. Since the death of her mother, she's been the caretaker to everyone in her family. She knows they're taking advantage of her mercilessly, but she can't say no. In short, she's a pushover. Will she realize in time that she might be giving up the best thing that's happened to her, and will Carson's dream come true? The chemistry was super hot, and Carson was just delectable. Holly came across as an annoying youngster, despite being 24. When a boyfriend breaks up with you after six months, is it really that big of a tragedy? I found her to be a demanding nympho when it came to distracting Carson from talking to her about a relationship. So with that said, I didn't really like her at all. Still a good short, steamy story. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha

HTML: On the road to forever, anything goes... An Out of Uniform story. Carson Scott is the king of one-night stands, so a naughty encounter with a sexy brunette in a nightclub supply closet is right up his alley. When his mysterious seductress disappears, he's blindsided by an unfamiliar emotionâ??disappointment. One thing's for sure...if he ever encounters his lady of the evening again, he won't let her slip away so easily. Between her catering business, family issues, and her broken heart, Holly Lawson has too much on her plate to think about committing to a serious relationship. Hot, sweaty, anonymous sex with a Navy SEAL...now that sounds like the perfect appetizer to take the edge off. With no plans to ever see him again, she indulges in a fling. Only to come face to face with him weeks later while working a wedding. Worse, Carson is hell-bent on the one thing she doesn't want. The R word. She has no intention of falling for him, but in the face of his seductive, mind-changing methods, her resistance is crumbling... Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |

I really liked it. I thought the guys in it seemed like real guys. I liked the guy tone of their conversations etc. I really liked the hero. I thought it was a lovely thing to read about a regular guy who was ready to settle down. Regular for a hot SEAL any way. He seemed very realistic. She was not as well developed but wasn't bad. She just needed more screen time I think. The story was well written and tightly written. Absolutely nothing there that didn't need to be there for the novella. This is where the missing star comes into play. If this great relationship story had been filled out and combined with some spec ops action I would have been in hog heaven. In my opinion this author judging from this story needs to be writing full length romantic suspense/SEAL romances. I will definitely read more by this author.
