But it just missed being angsty or dramatic enough. Fairly well written and nothing that would put me off reading more by this author. The hero and heroine were neither strong nor wimpy. ( ) Emelia wakes up in a London hospital bed to find that she's been in a coma for a week - and a brooding stranger is claiming to be her husband. She can't remember Javier Mélendez or their life together, even though they've been married for two years. Taken back to the villa they had shared as a couple, Emelia soon realizes that something is wrong with their marriage. Okay, the blurb for the book sounded interesting to me, so I gave it a try. Unfortunately, the book was just poorly written. The plot was so paper-thin that you could see through it. The characters were unlikeable and two-dimensional. Themes were introduced that were never resolved or resolved in a comically bad way. Izabelle, Javier's half-sister, hated Emelia at first, but became her best friend within a few paragraphs. Emelia had a complete personality shift post-accident, and her change in behavior was explained away as some act she put on because she thought that was what Javier wanted. Right. Random events were just thrown into the mix to presumably pad the page count. Ugh. When I read Harlequin Presents books, I don't expect high literature. But I do expect something of a plot, emotionally engaging characters, and a book that makes sense at least somewhat. But this book didn't offer any of those things. This was basically several sex scenes strung together with a very poor plot - and no, not all Harlequin Presents books are like that. I'm deleting this one from my Kindle; it's not worth the space it takes up on the device! sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha

When fragile Emelia awoke from her coma she had no recollection of the strikingly handsome man before her, whose eyes glittered like fine-cut gems--hard and impenetrable. But he aroused something within her.... Javier Mélendez had wed Emelia for convenience and bedded her for pleasure. The rules in place during their marriage had suited him perfectly, and he'd ensured his trophy wife adhered to them.... But as Emelia's memory slowly returned, she seemed to be laboring under a misapprehension...that their marriage was based on love! Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |
