I like this book because even after the ugly duckling is turned away from his family he continues to try and fit in. For example he finds another nest of birds and tries to join them. Once he is turned away from those birds he finds the wooden duck, then he thinks that duck is turning him away. Then he finds his real family.

Another reason I like this book is because it uses a lot of descriptive words. For example some of the descriptive phrases are, "wide, wide world," "friendly little marsh birds,' and "big wooden duck." There are a lot of phrases like this.

The main idea in this story is when you are different you will be treated differently but everyone fits in somewhere. ( )
