This a prequel to the Darkover series describing the landing of humans on the planet. Interesting from a sociological point of view, it remains piecemeal in its descriptions of the first years of humans on Darkover. Not one of the best Darkover novels, yet interesting to read for background, if you're a Darkoer fan!

A very short book about how Darkover was populated. A decent read but probably not too interesting unless you've read some of the series beforehand. ( )

I read this book first since it came first in terms of Darkover time, and it was enough that I didn't read another book of the series.
