Johnny & Crystal's story! Crystal is accused of a crime she didn't commit & is kidnapped by a foreign sex trafficker. It's been awhile since I've read the first two books in the Black Ops, Inc. series and it's easy to forget just how much I enjoy Cindy Gerard's writing. Whisper No Lies was a great reminder! This action packed read starts quickly, with an element of danger and an ominous threat. It's a hard book to put down. Our hero, Johnny Reed, finds himself on a one-man rescue mission in the crowded city of Jakarta, Indonesia, and finds a bigger op than he expected.

In addition to vivid action scenes that jump off the pages, I also enjoyed watching Crystal and Johnny fall in love. They are definitely among my top ten favorite romantic couples! Crystal is everything I enjoy in a fictional heroine. She's tough as nails, doesn't fall apart in a tight spot, fights to survive with all she has, and yet still comes across as feminine and tender. I loved how she stood her ground with Johnny and only shed tears when the danger was over. I got the impression that crying happens only on her terms. Johnny is a great match for her. I enjoyed his outgoing personality and that the only thing that seriously rattles him is Crystal being in danger.

Not my favorite of the series so far, but still really good as far as the plot goes and the action.

I really liked Crystal since her introduction in the second book, and now she gets to play a major role and snag herself one of the BOIs. Her toughness came as a huge (and welcome) surprise. The ending is especially impressive.

As for Johnny Reed, I think the most enjoyable part of this story was seeing the biggest player of the group get tamed by a little pixie spitfire.

Johnny Duane Reed has always made sure that he never cared for someone. He sure as hell doesn't want to fall in love, either! However, he can't help it when Cindy (aka Tinkerbell to him) is kidnapped by a Aisan war lord to become his person sex slave. Reed stops at nothing to get Cindy out of danger but danger seems to follow them all over Indonesia. ( )
