Hayley Mills stars as two young girls who, while at summer camp, discover that they are long-lost twin sisters, separated shortly after birth. Reunited at last, they launch a coast-to-coast campaign to rekindle romance between their estranged parents.
This is rather twee, and it's very dated now, of course - but still, we thought it a delightful film featuring twins separated at birth, neither of whom knows of the other's existence at the start of the story.
A young Hayley Mills stars as both the twins, and does so extremely well, even demonstrating two different American accents for the sisters, brought up in different States. In the days before computer-generated special effects, it's quite remarkable what was achieved.
More for children and young teens than for adults, but we liked it anyway. ( )
I remember watching the 2nd version of The Parent Trap shown on the late '90s. I liked the movie and reading this 1961 comics made me remember the scenes, as well as the still innocent Lindsay Lohan in the said movie. ( )
