Undead Girl Gang lived up to it's cover and blurb (which is what drew me in). It was a true to genre YA read, many YAs that I read tend to lean very close to New Adult. But this book stays within the YA age range perfectly. The characters were very stereotypical high school characters but did fulfill that theme fully. This was a slight disappointment as the stereotypical high school story is played out for me. Overall, it was a good story, and wrapped up well. It took me longer to read due to a few spots that were slow. ( )

Good story line. Original plot. Certainly a page turner. Don't know why Mr. Laymon felt compelled to have a rape scene occur at least once (sometimes several times) every 30 pages or so. Pretty much every character in the novel was obsessed with sex to the point that it made me just roll my eyes eventually and wonder what was compelling Laymon to dwell on sex so much. Laymon also has only two types of women in this book: helpless rape victims or homicidal nymphomaniacs. I gave it three stars because I knew what to expect going in. You can't exactly turn on a trashy B Horror movie and expect something great---but sometimes you just want to enjoy the camp of a B Horror movie. This book is just like that. ( )

Brutal, blutig und spannend! ( )

It was a decent read, nothing outstanding. It got a bit cheesy in a few places but the basic plotline was pretty danged interesting and a little out of the ordinary. Very graphic in violence and in sexual assault. I did not care for the ending. It just stopped. I was also confused by the last 2 or 3 chapters and had to read and re-read because I knew what had happened but not how it had happened.

If you want a horror book that is a fast and fairly interesting read, I would recommend this one. Definitely a beach read or plane read. ( )
