I thought this was a hilarious book filled with wacky illustrations and content. The story begins on a Paris farm where a man named Monsieur Monmoutoon discovered weird things happening on his farm. The farm animals were conspiring to take a trip without Monsieur Monmoutoon. By the next morning, the animals were gone and Monmoutoon was left with no clues as to their whereabouts. After the dog Cabot came across a to do list they boarded a flight to New York. After searching for the animals they found that they were always one step behind them. Towards the end of the story, Monmoutoon gets a post card from the waitress whom he was talking to at a Jazz club. After they arrive at the farmhouse back home, Monmoutoon receives a postcard from the waitress that she will be coming to visit him. I felt as though the plot was simple, yet captivating. The illustrations were lovely and fun. I believe young students will enjoy this book ( )

Monsieur Monmouton's farm animalshave decided to sneak away and take a trip to NY. Monmouton and his faithful sheep dog, Cabot, check the barn in the morning, but only find a note and a to-do list for NY. Monomouton and Cabot rush to NY and try to catch up to the farm animals by going to each place on their to-do list. Finally Cabot thinks of the good idea to go to the very last stop and wait for the farm animals to arive, because they keep missing them! While they are waiting, Monmouton orders a ginger ale and is distracted by their beautiful waitress. When the farm animals arrive, they all drink ginger ale and have a great time. Then, it is up to Cabot to get everyone back on the plane. Once they are all back in France, Monomouton recieves a postcard from the waitress saying she has bought a ticket to France! ( )

I really liked this story. The illustrations were great. Also it was all about the adventure that all of these French farm animals went on. The story gives great opportunity for the reader to use all different kinds of accents. I think that students would really enjoy that. I also think that students would love to guess what is going to happen next as the farmer tries to catch all of the animals. This is a fun book. ( )

A story about a farmer, Monsieur Monmouton who chases after his farm animals, who have traveled to New York only leaving a note behind telling them that were going and not to worry. Frantically Monmouton chases after them. The animals are going to see the sights of the city, Blooming Dells, Central Park, and much more. The farmer finally catches up to them at their last stop, a Jazz bar. Where he meets a young beautiful waitress. The animals and the farmer reunite and drink gingerale before they get on the plane home. Story of adventure and travel. Can be hard to read if you don't know any french. Great water color illustrations. ( )

LC summary: Monsieur Monmouton and his dog Cabot fly from France to New York City in pursuit of his farm animals, who are taking a vacation to see such sights as Blooming Dells and MOOMA.
The text is not brilliant, but the chase after the errant animals is fun, and the watercolors are entertaining. ( )
