"Mein Name ist Luz" ist die Geschichte ihrer Identitätsfindung. Luz' Leben wird aus den verschiedensten Blickwinkeln, stets als Ich-Erzählung der jeweils beteiligten Personen, in chronologischer Abfolge erzählt. Die Klammer des Erzählstrangs bildet Luz eigene Schilderung der Ereignisse, als diese in den 1990ern erstmals auf ihren leiblichen Vater im spanischen Exil trifft.
Osorio ist ein literarischer Kunstgriff mit wechselnden Perspektiven und auf den jeweiligen Erzähler abgestimmter Sprache gelungen. Sie hat so ein detailreiches Mosaik und Zeugnis eines erschütternden Schicksals geschaffen, wie es im Laufe der südamerikanischen Militärdiktaturen Menschen tausendfach widerfahren war. Obwohl dem Leser von Anfang an klar ist, dass Luz als Kind geraubt wird, bleibt ihre Geschichte bis zuletzt fesselnd hat Osorio einen zeithistorisch bedeutenden, literarischen Beitrag zur Aufarbeitung der Verbrechen der argentischen Miltärs von 1976-1983 geschaffen.
