The Ultimate Slow Cooker by Linda Larsen is one of those cookbooks that takes care of all your needs. It is a big book, 499 pages and covers an introduction that talks about the basics.
The sections include breakfast and brunch, appetizers, snacks and drinks, vegetables and sides, then there are soups, stews and chilis, seafood and vegetarian meals, poultry, pork, beef and lamb, basics like sauces, and desserts.
There are recipes for a 3 qt or 6 qt, whether you want to make hot chocolate in the small cooker or a whole chicken in the 6 qt.
There are labels, meaning if the recipe is low calorie, gluten free, or vegetarian. there is information on the ingredients, basics such as cooking times and temps for the cookers. I love the tip part of each recipe, ingredient tip, a little lighter, if you have a minute, extra easy and game plan. Easy to read recipes, some with a bit longer prep time than others.
I think that this cookbook will have a prominent place on my cookbook shelves. I love to use my slow cooker and hope to use this book frequently. ( )
