The book tells about a named Ricardo and how he has taught himself how to make pinatas. He began very simply and as he got more experienced in making pinatas his designs became more elaborate or comlicated. The books tells how Ricardo makes pinatas by steps with illustrations. The illustrations are very good and easy to see. It also tells of how some of the villagers come to visit Ricardo to purchase pinatas for various occasions. I think the best part is how the story is not only told in English but also in the Spanish language.

I liked this book because it tells of different culture other than my own. I like learning about different cultures. I do have some latino friends and like learning about their culture.

I would definitely use this book from as early as 3rd grade and maybe 2nd grade. I believe it would be great use for geography, social studies, arts and crafts. And possibly for a foreign language class for older children in 9th grade because the book is written in English as well as in Spanish. ( )
