I really enjoyed The Time of the Stripes and found it hard to put down. It seemed so terrifyingly real as I was catapulted into the lives of the people who had survived a mysterious visitation from aliens. With a large portion of the town missing and many of those left behind marked with red stripes, the characters stuggled to comprehend what had happened to them, why it had happened and if the aliens would return to finish what they started.
Filled with a rich range of people, the conflict that arises from the way different factions react to the phenononen felt so true I couldn't help but wonder what I would do in that situation. Segregated, isolated, the inevitable rise of tensions between the two sides had me engrossed as I cheered on the characters I had come to love as they fought against those who were using the conflict to serve their own agendas.
The ending left me gasping and I can't wait to find out what happens next. ( )
