Author Stacy Eaton knows how to write a story and grab you right away from the first page. It was a good thing it was the week-end because I couldn’t put the book down. This is a definite must read if you like romance with mystery and murder thrown in. The is the second book in the Second Shield series but it can be a stand alone. I highly recommend reading the first so you get to know the characters even more and besides it was a great book too!!

The storyline is about Sergeant MacKenzie McCallister also called Mack. She learns she is pregnant with who she thought was the love of her life, Special Agent Andrew Cooper who is cross country taking care of family business. When she is ready to tell him the special news about the pregnancy, he tells her he needs some time to take care of things and she doesn’t hear from him for many weeks. Did they really share the great love she thought? And what happened to him promising to come back to her. As all of this is going on she is working on a strange serial murder and she starts to move on with her life. Or does she? When Andrew Cooper comes back to town, things really turn up on what Mack is to do.

The story is filled with the great characters from the first book along with a few new ones. I received this book for an honest review and glad I was able to read this wonderful book. As far as I’m concerned both Second Shield I and II are must reads! Hats off to Eaton for giving us another great book to read. ( )
