Of course not all kids will appreciate being assigned to read it, but I do recommend it to teachers for their classroom libraries. ( ) James Printer: A Novel of Rebellion is an amazing novel set in the late 1600's. It is the story of a boy named Bartholomew Green who befriends his father's Indian apprentice James. James was plucked from the Indian community as a young boy and was raised as a Christian. When a war begins between the colonists and King Philip (an Indian) James is basically exiled from the colonists. The war goes on and James is still remaining loyal to the colonists by being an interpreter for King Phillip and the colonists. The war ends and James is made to stay away from the colonists on a barren island for the winter. He is then let go and lives his life far away from Cambridge and Boston. James and Bartholomew later reconnect when James helps Bartholomew print a book that needs to be in Algonquin and English. As a lover of history this book had my attention from the start. It is full of periodic details that lead you back to the time and place. James' story was one of unheard of bravery. This book really said to me that even if you have your doubts about someone, they can surprise you. This was an amazing read! sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha

Although he has lived and worked as a printer's apprentice with the Green family in Cambridge Massachusetts, for many years, James, a Nipmuck Indian, finds himself caught up in the events that lead to a horrible war. Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |
