So I knew going into this that this may not be my cup o' tea. But, after the swoon-fest that was [b:Sheltered|13518793|Sheltered|Charlotte Stein|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1331337808s/13518793.jpg|19078103], I was willing to take the plunge.

We're thrown immediately (like, on page 1) into the first sexual encounter between best friends Maisie, Brandon and Tyler. Notice the three people there, didja? So, that's where it's not generally my bag. I've read -- and even enjoyed -- a few menage stories, but they're usually not my favorite. Now, in this book? I actually really loved the relationship between the three, and it was one of my favorite things about the book. Told in first person, we get a great glimpse into Maisie's head and her reasoning and thoughts behind her actions. Plus, to me, it makes it even more powerful when Brandon is all sweet and swoony and sweet, or Tyler is a dirty talking, sexy beast of a man.

Speaking of Brandon...I can haz one of him, yes?

What didn't win me over in the book was all the derogatory talk. And there was a lot of it. To me, it's the equivalent of a cold, dead, smelly fish being tossed on the bed during sexytimes. Not only does it not turn my crank, but it breaks my crank right off.

Now, if that sort of thing doesn't bother you, or, better yet, that sort of thing does turn your crank, then you're in for a treat of a deliciously smutty and dirty read.

There's something so lovely about the way Charlotte writes her scenes - something that makes the words hot while not becoming campy or over-the-top. There's lots of lust, a hellofalotta sex, some strong emotions, and one leading lady finally coming out of her shell and accepting her not-so-innocent side.

The last time Maisie saw Brandon and Tyler, she was sneaking out after they had indulged in a threesome. Five years later, she’s back and they need to make sure this time around she stays.

Since she has been gone, the dynamic of their relationship has changed dramatically. Now Brandon and Tyler are in bisexual relationship and Tyler is definitely the more Dominant of the two. If she joins in, she has to realise that Brandon needs the sexual domination that only Tyler seems to be able to give him, and join in with her own version of events. Will they be able to make it work this time?

I love Charlotte Stein’s work. I love that she isn’t afraid to use first person, that she isn’t afraid to write sexual females and that all her work is combustible. I enjoyed this one immensely, albeit not as much as previous ones.

Maisie is a woman who has decided enough is enough. She ran from them before, but now she’s back and she knows what she wants. I enjoyed that she had changed, that she no longer cared what people thought but I thought she wasn’t the most vivid of characters in this tale. I felt she was completely overshadowed by the men.

I adored the male characters in this story. Brandon was a sweetie, blatantly shamed by his feelings towards his friend and towards his submissive nature. He was the complete opposite to the sexy brute that was Tyler. My GOD that man had a sexy mouth (the amount of dirty talk was unbelievable...) . They worked together and, although it was obvious that they wanted Maisie there, I couldn’t help but feel they functioned without her.

This is a Charlotte Stein book; there will is sex. There are various ménage situations and once again I will wax lyrical about authors who are not afraid to have their men be comfortable in the company of another man. Yes, this is my favourite type of ménage, because everyone is having sex with each other, but I cannot abide sex scenes were the men are uncomfortable with each other! These three were so comfortable with the other peoples desires (if not their own!) that the steam literally rose from the page. Everything they did was for pleasure, not for shame.

Overall, this was a very sexy little book, littered with dirty talk and hot hot sex. I would have liked to see a stronger female alongside the two fantastic male leads, but it didn’t impact my enjoyment so much that I couldn’t see past it. I love the first person perspective and the uninhibited sex. Give it a try.
