Fiction. Romance. HTML:

Letting her into his life is not an option. Letting her go...impossible.

Out of Uniform, Book 4

One look at Thomas Becker's seriously ripped body, and Jane Harrison is having trouble remembering why she tracked down the Navy SEAL. Oh, yes, that hot scoop for her magazine. Instead they get trapped in an elevator together—and she gets sizzling hot sex.

After the delicious encounter is over, Becker's out of there, she's left off balance, and even more determined not to take no for an answer. Either for that interview, or another chance to find out if he always goes commando.

One minute Becker is making it plain his answer is no. The next, he's using the only weapon at hand to calm her confined-space panic attack—a kiss. And caving in to a fierce, unexpected need that wasn't even on his radar. Long term? Hell no—not after the divorce that just spit him out. But a fling with the redheaded reporter with a brutally honest mouth and a body made for sin? Abso-effing-lutely.

Trouble is, when the week is over, she isn't even close to being out of his system...

Warning: Contents under pressure. Hot elevator sex, a redhead who knows exactly what she wants, and a Navy SEAL who can't help but give it to her. May cause spontaneous combustion. Be sure to fan yourself frequently.

I think I'd actually give this sucker 4.5 stars. I really enjoyed almost everything about it. For it being such a short piece, it didn't feel that way in regards to Becker and Jane's relationship. Even their first sexual encounter didn't seem off, like it does sometimes when characters just meet and hop into the sack. I felt their attraction, their sexual tension. Plus, I think it helped that they weren't all of the sudden OMG, SEW IN LURVE!!!! immediately. They were realistic in what they were doing, and I think that helped tremendously with the storyline.

The characters were great - Jane was funny and blunt. Beck was hot and stoic. I even loved all the guys in the background (and will be reading the other books in this series). And the sex was supah hot.

My only real complaint was that it ended so abruptly. Stupid "sneak peeks" at the back - I thought I still had like 10 pages to read. *pout* ( )

Holy hell, these just keep getting hotter!

Lt. Thomas Becker is the new leader of the SEAL team. Fresh off a divorce from his model wife, Alice, he's not looking for love or a relationship. A rescue mission to save an American photographer, Elizabeth Harrison, from a hostile environment leaves him with a bullet in his arm and some time off for physical therapy. When Elizabeth's sister, Jane, shows up one day requesting an interview, he turns her down. Not one to give up, Jane chases him down and tries to get him to change his mind. All thoughts of getting a scoop fly out the window the moment they get stuck together in an elevator. Jane, who hates small spaces, has a small panic attack. The only way to get her to calm down is to distract her. Jane and Thomas share ten minutes of heavy distracting *cough* before they're set free. Coming off the intense high, Jane knows she wants to have that again and again, but only with Thomas. When asks him to dinner, but he turns her down saying he's not in the right frame of mind for dating, much less a relationship. Jane is disappointed, but understands and so they go their separate ways, albeit reluctantly.

A chance meeting brings them together again. Only this time Thomas can't resist her. She's only in the area for another eight days. What's eight days of a little harmless sex with no strings attached? When the eight days are over, they can both walk away.

Fine, this story is now my new favorite of the series. The Lieutenant is one hot piece of property! For such a quiet and reserved man, he was scorching hot under the covers and was a damn good dirty talker. That man gave me goosebumps. And I adored Jane! She was incredibly blunt and honest to a fault. For once it was great to see the female take the lead. He didn't stand a chance when she set out to seduce him senseless, and she did it very well. Thomas has a few obstacles to overcome before he finally realizes that Jane is perfect for him, and not what his idea of perfect is.

The rest of the gang is also around to throw in their two cents, and Carson is as always hilarious!

"You can't call your superior officer an idiot," Carson said. He smirked. "But I can." He cast an irritated look in Becker's direction. "You're an idiot."

Good hot erotic novella. Kennedy does a good job with the short format, building up only as much story as there's room for and resolving it without it feeling hasty. ( )

Becker was just plain hot; hands down. The elevator scene made me turn my air conditioner in the middle of October! Let me just say that a writer can never go wrong including a character that is a Navy SEAL and Kennedy did not disappointment me with Becker. He is not like the other SEALS characters (who are more playful) Becker is a serious character but falls just as hard as all the other guys have for that one woman.
