How is it October already? What 1001 Books are you reading in this final quarter of the year?

Still reading Clarissa (the end is near!) and have also started Julie or the New Eloise, because one 1700s epistolary novel wasn't enough?

Wrapping up The Mill on the Floss and unwrapping Castle Richmond.

Started out the month with Corelli's Mandolin by Louis de Bernieres which I was nervous about since it had tags for romance and WWII, two of my least favorite things to read, but I loved this. Five star read for me.
Then I slogged my way through The Mysteries of Udolpho by Ann Radcliffe. Glad to have finally gotten to this one, but it was a bit of a struggle for me.
And now I am starting Melmoth the Wanderer for the group read. The audio edition that I found for this one is old and poor quality, so I hope I can make it through.

I have returned to Melmoth the Wanderer on audio after a sanity break, and am enjoying it more now. In between I listened to Casino Royale. And on paper I am having a great time with The Castle of Crossed Destinies.
