Lots of good, reliable books about the real Japan chosen with the insight of someone who has actually lived here for 20 years and speaks the language fluently. Other books follow my interests: cycling, vegan/vegetarian health and lifestyle, California Gold Rush history, reliable historical fiction, literary nonfiction, and some good, mostly new literature.
