Discovering Chinese Nationalism in China: Mo… de Yongnian Zheng
This book is only useful if you want to understand what is sadly a common view among Chinese academics. Zheng does not engage with counter-arguments, blames everything on an amorphous ‘the West’, engages in plenty of essentialism, and is completely incapable of being reflective and critical of China. Everything is the fault of ‘the West’ = The US.
