David J. Wilson (1) (1941–)

This is a standard anthropological text.. It tells you about the peoples, their rituals, what they hunt, etc. The twist is that Wilson has his own model for studying and analyzing these cultures: the systems-hierarchical model. It accounts for environment (like Steward) and has structures (like Harris) and mixes them, adding some stuff of his own. He notes that the environment affects civilization, but "ultimate-sacred-postulates" affect how the interact with the environment. Pressure top-down, pressure bottom-up. Et cetera, et cetera.
