- Born in Detroit Michigan, Michael J. Sullivan has lived in Vermont, North Carolina and Virginia. He worked as a commercial artist and illustrator, founding his own advertising agency in 1996, which he closed in 2005 to pursue writing full-time. The Crown Conspiracy is his first published work. He currently resides in Fairfax, Virginia with his wife and three children.

Excellent short story! A young noblewoman hires Royce and Hadrian to kidnap her, but the job is more complicated than it seems.

I loved reading this book. The Crown Tower is part of The Riyria Chronicles (a prequel series to The Riyria Revelations, which I read early last year). It shows Royce and Hadrian when they first met and how they became partners. I completely adore the characters in these books, and this story held my interest the whole way through.
I love the world that the author created and I like that he's published so many books in it. There are two other prequel series set in this world (which I haven't tried yet). "The Rise and Fall", which is set a thousand years before this one, and "The Legends of the First Empire", which is set a thousand years before that.
The narrator for the audiobooks, Tim Gerald Reynolds, is amazing.
This (along with the Riyria Revelations) is definitely one of my favorite series of all time.… (mais)

I liked reading this book. It's a good part of the series and I loved seeing Hadrian and Royce. I didn't love this book as much as The Crown Tower though.

I do wish that the story showed more of their journey through the cave instead of just showing the characters talking about it, though.
