teen realistic fiction (boy gets dumped by girlfriend in the middle of "romantic" boat trip, stumbles on support group for teens with addiction and other problems). I found this book while looking for books about teens and depression (in the hopes that I might be helpful or at least not harmful to some teens I know with depression), and thought I would give this a try since I also know of teens with addiction problems. It turns out that this doesn't really go into addiction that much, or kleptomania, or bulimia, but it does deal with a teen learning to accept himself in a very readable way. I read this in one day, so it's even quicker than the usual teen fic.… (mais)

children's fiction; time travel/school stories. Thanks to her good-at-math brain, 9-year-old Odessa Green-Light realizes quickly that she only gets a limited number of redos, and that they get an hour shorter each time. She has to decide what's worth going back for, and learn that some things aren't going to change no matter how many times you try.
