Very interesting ideas. I love Levine's reworking of classic fairy tales. This one fell a bit flat for me, especially towards the end. I wasn't sure what Peregrine's internal journey was supposed to be, and it made what was happening externally feel like A LOT. There were also a lot of moving parts in this one, which made the ending feel like one big event after another. I love the ideas, I just think the execution wasn't quite on par with some of her other work.

Charming re-telling of Cinderella. Ella is cursed with the "gift" of obedience. Ella tries to fight it as much as she can. It is very different in tone from the movie. Both are enjoyable, but in different ways.

I didn't like it as much as i thought i would. The concept of this book was good and had a lot of potential, but the singing was over the top, the second half of the book felt rushed, and it felt like you were supposed to feel sorry for the main character the entire time, even though some of the situations happened just because she didnt listen or think things through.
